Sounds cliche, but one assumption is that as a new staff they likely desire to get off to a good start with winnable games early as everyone is adjusting especially with quite a few new players. As you mention it gets tougher with the Tampa and Georgia weekends as both have several strong teams. Lipscomb as a weekday DH is a good test as well. Overall ACC schedule (which we have no control of) is slightly favorable without regular season games vs FSU and Notre Dame.
